Re Treaty Endo Files Kit for Retreatment – (5 Files)
Re Treaty is a minimally invasive NiTi retreatment file system designed by Style Italiano Endodontics and made by Perfect Endo. It gives you a single, repeatable sequence of five rotary files in three different alloys for removing old root filling material (gutta-percha) and then reshaping the canals conservatively. Retreatments are becoming more common than primary treatments, and Re Treaty applies the same rotary, crown-down thinking to disassembly that clinicians already use for primary shaping, instead of relying on many different instruments or hand files. The files are named and illustrated with avatars rather than codes or letters, so the sequence is easy to remember: Bully, Skinny and Shapy 1, 2 and 3.
Key Features
- Five files, three alloys, one cross-section – an S-shaped cross-section designed to improve cutting efficiency while offering higher fatigue resistance than the triangular and square sections commonly used in retreatment kits
- Bully (25/.07, 21mm) removes old coronal gutta-percha, without solvents
- Skinny (25/.04, 25mm) removes gutta-percha in the middle and apical thirds and creates the glide path to the terminus
- Shapy 1, 2 and 3 (20/.05, 25/.05, 30/.05) finalise the shaping conservatively, following the canal anatomy
- Three heat treatments – gold, silver (no heat treatment) and blue – so each file's flexibility and cutting behaviour matches its job
- Conservative approach that preserves root dentine and respects the original canal anatomy
- Simple to use with a standard endodontic motor, at 350–500 rpm
- Developed by the Style Italiano Endodontics team and manufactured by Perfect Endo
The Five Files

Bully (Bull-Y) – taper 25/.07, length 21mm. Specifically designed to remove the coronal gutta-percha obturation material during non-surgical endodontic retreatment. The gold treatment of the alloy, the semi-active tip design and the shorter length of the file give it the right features for removing gutta-percha in a short time without any solvent. It can be used in continuous rotation or in a reciprocating motion.

Skinny (Skinn-Y) – taper 25/.04, length 25mm. Thin but powerful for debris removal, with a silver, austenitic alloy that has no heat treatment. It removes gutta-percha in the middle and apical third of the root canal system, preserving the coronal region of the canal and creating a reproducible pathway close to the apical terminus.

Shapy 1 (Shap-Y1) – taper 20/.05, length 25mm. The first real shaper once patency has been reached. Gold alloy, flexible but with great cutting efficiency, and designed to follow the natural anatomy of the canal.

Shapy 2 (Shap-Y2) – taper 25/.05, length 25mm. A gold alloy file for good flexibility, combined with resistance to unwinding, used to achieve a deeper shape in a retreatment.

Shapy 3 (Shap-Y3) – taper 30/.05, length 25mm. A blue heat-treated alloy for higher flexibility when the apical shape needs to be enlarged, giving maximum adaptation without altering the original anatomy.

- Pack: 5 files
- Recommended speed: 350–500 rpm
- Torque: 1.5 N·cm, per the manufacturer's information for the Re Treaty system
- Brand: Perfect Endo, designed with Style Italiano Endodontics
Instructions for Use
- Review different horizontally angulated radiographs to determine the width, length and curvature of the root and its canal(s).
- Prepare an access cavity that makes each canal orifice easy to identify.
- Introduce Bully at the orifice level, in touch with the gutta-percha, in clockwise rotation or in a reciprocating motion (angles 30° anticlockwise / 150° clockwise). Remove gutta-percha at the orifice and in the coronal third without pushing if passive penetration is not reached.
- Introduce Skinny at the mid-level of the root canal system, removing gutta-percha by advancing the instrument 1–3mm with gentle in-and-out movements.
- Use a K-file to measure the working length electronically and to reach patency passively.
- Introduce Shapy 1 at the working length, followed by Shapy 2 and Shapy 3 to adjust the final shaping size.
Recommendations
- Irrigate frequently and abundantly, and work with plenty of irrigant in the canal
- Follow the advised rpm and torque settings
- Start the procedure after scouting
- Apply soft pressure and use picking or brushing movements

Who Is Re Treaty For?
Re Treaty suits general dentists and endodontists who carry out non-surgical retreatment and want one predictable, conservative rotary sequence for removing old gutta-percha and reshaping the canals, without relying on solvents or on a large collection of different instruments.
Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the Re Treaty system?
- Re Treaty is a five-file NiTi retreatment kit designed by Style Italiano Endodontics and manufactured by Perfect Endo. It uses three alloys and one S-shaped cross-section to remove old gutta-percha and reshape the canals conservatively.
- Which files are in the Re Treaty kit?
- Bully (25/.07, 21mm), Skinny (25/.04, 25mm), and Shapy 1 (20/.05), Shapy 2 (25/.05) and Shapy 3 (30/.05), all 25mm.
- What does each file do?
- Bully removes coronal gutta-percha. Skinny removes gutta-percha in the middle and apical thirds and creates the glide path. After patency is confirmed, Shapy 1, 2 and 3 finalise the shaping.
- Does Re Treaty need a solvent?
- No. The Bully is designed to remove gutta-percha without any solvent, which allows "dry" disobturation.
- What speed and torque should be used?
- The recommended speed is 350 to 500 rpm. The manufacturer's information for the Re Treaty system gives a torque of 1.5 N·cm.
- Can the Bully be used in reciprocation?
- Yes. The Bully can be used in continuous clockwise rotation or in a reciprocating motion with angles of 30° anticlockwise and 150° clockwise.
- Why are three different alloys used?
- Each file's heat treatment suits its role: gold for Bully, Shapy 1 and Shapy 2, silver austenitic NiTi with no heat treatment for the thin Skinny, and blue for the highly flexible Shapy 3.
- Can I buy individual files?
- Yes. The Bully and Skinny are available as 5-packs at UK Dentistry, so you can restock the files you use most often.
- Who makes Re Treaty?
- Re Treaty is made by Perfect Endo and was developed with Style Italiano Endodontics.
