YDM GP Remover Spear

In root canal re-treatment, old gutta percha must be removed. After softening with ultrasonics, the YDM GP Remover Spear removes it cleanly and precisely. The tip's shape is tiny with 360 degrees of cutting edges, making it easy to reach and engage the target point from any angle without needing to reposition. It can also be used as a finalising remover after rotary file re-treatment (Re Treaty by StyleItaliano Endodontics).

Choose your preferred handle diameter and tip size from the options below. The handle is supplied in a Double End configuration, letting you keep two tip sizes ready in one instrument.

Tip Options

Choose from 3 different types and 2 different length:

Target area:

0.3 mm: near apical               

0.5 mm: middle of root canal           

0.7 mm: entrance of root canal

S version: Length 21 mm (for posterior)




L version: Length 28 mm (for anterior)

Suitable for scrape off the gutta-percha (1). With its very tiny tip it is easy to reach the desired target area. Suitable for scrape out (2). With it's tip with 360° edge it easy to crape out gutta-percha.

How to Use

• Use with less power than you would use holding a ball-point pen — this is a delicate instrument, not a forceful one
• Too much power will cause the tip to bend. Do not attempt to bend a bent tip back to its original shape, as this will cause breakage
• Use of a microscope is recommended alongside this instrument
• Remove the tip from the handle before sterilisation and disinfection
• Highly recommended for delicate re-treatment procedures
