Endo Solution 17% EDTA Root Canal Liquid – 200g with Adapter and Dispenser

Endo Solution by Cerkamed is a 17% EDTA (disodium edetate) liquid for chemical and mechanical root canal preparation. It supports canal widening and cleaning, removes the smear layer and exposes the dentinal tubule orifices. EDTA works by binding calcium and magnesium ions in the mineral part of the tooth's hard tissues, which softens the superficial layer of dentine so it can be removed more easily and blocked canals can be negotiated. Each pack contains a 200g bottle, an adapter with cap and a dispenser, so it is ready to use straight from the box.

Composition: EDTA disodium salt (17%), purified water compliant with Ph. Eur., benzalkonium bromide and excipients. For professional dental use only.

Key Features

  • 17% EDTA, a widely used concentration for root canal chelation
  • Removes the smear layer and exposes the dentinal tubule orifices before final cleaning and obturation
  • Softens the superficial dentine layer by binding calcium and magnesium ions, making mechanical removal and canal widening easier
  • Helps unblock root canals during mechanical preparation
  • Supplied with adapter and dispenser — the adapter lets you draw the liquid straight from the bottle into a luer-lock syringe, reducing spillage
  • Includes a colour-coded, labelled syringe from Cerkamed for faster product identification and fewer mix-ups
  • Made by Cerkamed (Poland), a specialist endodontic manufacturer

How to Use Endo Solution

  1. Open the pulp cavity and remove the contents to expose the root canal orifices.
  2. Rinse initially with sodium hypochlorite and remove the inflamed pulp as required.
  3. Rinse the canal with purified water to remove the sodium hypochlorite before using EDTA.
  4. Inject Endo Solution into the canal using a syringe with a blunt-ended needle with a lateral bore, while working the canal mechanically for approximately 1 minute.
  5. Rinse with purified water. Repeat a few times if needed.
  6. Finish with a sodium hypochlorite rinse, as recommended, following your own irrigation protocol.

Using the Bottle Adapter

  1. Unscrew the bottle cap and screw the adapter onto the bottle.
  2. Unscrew the adapter's blue cap, screw a luer-lock syringe into the adapter opening, turn the bottle upside down and draw the liquid into the syringe, holding the adapter. Return the bottle upright before unscrewing the filled syringe.
  3. After each use, close the adapter opening with the blue cap.
  4. For transport, remove the adapter and close the bottle with its bottle cap.

The dispenser is not designed to draw fluid from the root canal, and it is not intended for storing liquids.

Easy Identification and Safe Application

Cerkamed supplies sets of labelled, colour-coded syringes and dispensers to go with its irrigants. The colour of the syringe label matches the product label, which speeds up identification and reduces the risk of picking up the wrong solution. The dispensers have a rubber ring on the plunger for smooth, controlled movement, and a luer-lock thread so an endodontic needle can be screwed on securely to help prevent accidental spillage. All needle types available on the market can be used with them.

Important Compatibility and Safety Information

  • Do not use sodium hypochlorite immediately before or after Endo Solution, because the EDTA neutralises its effect
  • Do not use immediately before or after chlorhexidine digluconate, as a white milky precipitate forms. Rinse the canals with purified water between irrigants
  • Do not leave Endo Solution in the canal or tooth cavity between visits, as this may over-soften the dentine
  • Do not use in patients who are hypersensitive to the product components
  • Take particular care during canal preparation near the anatomical opening so as not to perforate the root with instruments
  • EDTA can adversely affect the bonding strength of dentine to restorative materials; rinse thoroughly and consider this in your restorative sequence
  • Causes severe skin burns and eye damage. Use a rubber dam, disposable gloves, safety goggles or visor and protective clothing when handling the product
  • If swallowed, do not induce vomiting; drink plenty of water and seek medical advice. In case of contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice
  • Endodontic treatment may cause temporary postoperative pain. Keep out of reach of children

Storage

  • Store in the original packaging below 25°C
  • The expiry date on the container does not change after opening, provided the container is securely closed after each use
  • Dispose of empty containers responsibly, or return them to the manufacturer

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Endo Solution used for?
Endo Solution is a 17% EDTA liquid used during chemical and mechanical root canal preparation. It supports canal widening and cleaning, removes the smear layer, exposes the dentinal tubule orifices and helps unblock canals.
What concentration of EDTA does Endo Solution contain?
It contains 17% EDTA disodium salt, with purified water compliant with Ph. Eur., benzalkonium bromide and excipients.
How does EDTA work in a root canal?
EDTA binds calcium and magnesium ions in the mineral part of dentine. This softens the superficial dentine layer, so it can be removed more easily and the smear layer can be cleared from the canal walls.
What is included in the pack?
A 200g bottle of Endo Solution, an adapter with cap and a dispenser.
Can Endo Solution be used immediately before or after sodium hypochlorite?
No. EDTA neutralises the effect of sodium hypochlorite. Rinse the canal with purified water between the two irrigants.
Can Endo Solution be used with chlorhexidine?
Not immediately before or after chlorhexidine digluconate, because a white milky precipitate forms. Rinse with purified water between irrigants.
Can Endo Solution be left in the canal between visits?
No. Leaving it in the canal or tooth cavity between visits may over-soften the dentine.
How long should Endo Solution be worked in the canal?
The manufacturer's instructions describe injecting the liquid with a blunt-ended, lateral-bore needle while working the canal mechanically for approximately 1 minute, then rinsing with purified water and repeating a few times if needed.
How should Endo Solution be stored?
Store it in its original packaging below 25 degrees Celsius. The expiry date does not change after opening if the container is closed securely after each use.
Who can use Endo Solution?
It is for professional dental use only.
