PROVIDER - Cordless endomotor by Morita

Compact, cordless endodontic handpiece, featuring two types of movements:
Rotation (standard right-hand rotary motion)
OTR (patented by Morita, remarkably safe, reduces risk of file fracture).

OTR function combines advantages of reciprocal and continuous movements. OTR enables the file to reverse its rotational direction upon reaching a certain torque (for this reason, it is important to limit torque for protecting the file). After rotating in reverse by 90 degrees, the file returns to the cutting direction. If the practitioner continues applying pressure to the file, this procedure is repeated after a further rotation of 180°. If there is no strain on the file, it continues cutting. The advantage: the file can move more easily in the canal and the original course of the canal can be retained and the debris is removed safely.

OTR – how it works?

The strain generated on the file during canal shaping is constantly measured. If these forces are too large, the file will rotate 90 degrees to the left and then 180 degrees to the right and will continue on with reciprocal movements until resistance drops to a safe level and rotation can be resumed.
